Telegram 'Last Seen a Long Time Ago' Meaning: Blocked or Hidden?
Published 10 October 2026
Short answer
Telegram shows 'last seen a long time ago' for people who blocked you — and also for people who haven't been online for over a month or who hide their last seen from you. On its own it can't tell you which.
Telegram last seen statuses
- Exact time — they share last seen with you.
- 'Last seen recently' — hidden by privacy settings, online within the last few days.
- 'Last seen within a week' / 'within a month' — hidden, with a rough time window.
- 'Last seen a long time ago' — not online for over a month, or you are blocked.
Telegram ticks
One check means your message reached Telegram's servers; two checks mean it was read. Messages to someone who blocked you stay on one check — but so do messages they simply haven't opened.
Combining signs
A block often changes several things at once: last seen becomes 'a long time ago', the profile photo disappears and messages stay on one check. Privacy settings can produce all of these too.
Frequently asked questions
If I hide my last seen, can I see others'?
Usually not exact times. Telegram shows approximate statuses instead.
